We often think wouldn’t it be nice if clients appreciated the effort that goes into delivering a good job? Then wouldn’t it also be nice if one of the clients, a university lecturer in Science and Economics, monitored the performance of their new home and it exceeded their expectations?
Wouldn’t it then be great if your clients were motivated enough to take the time to put it all down in an email?
Well, it isn’t easy, but they did appreciate it. He did monitor it, it did exceed his expectations and he was motivated enough to take the time to email.

“We had our gas bill in the other day – the results are as follows:
- In the 2 years before we did the work i.e. April 07 to April 09 we consumed 3983 units of gas at 5.32units per day
- In the last 12 months we have consumed 1700 units of gas at 4.42 units per day.
- This represents a reduction in the consumption of gas units per day of 16.9%. Not bad for the coldest winter for a decade.
- However this paints an inaccurate picture. The fact is that we increased the floor space by 68% in the house.
- So if we take our figures of units per day and divide by the floor area applicable we get “units per day per square ft ” or how much gas it takes per square foot to heat the place.
- In the 2 years to April 09 this was 0.00532 units per day per square foot
- In the last 12 months to April 11 we have heated a bigger house at the rate of 0.00263 units per day per sq. ft.
- The reduction in units per day per square foot is therefore 50.1%
So I think we can safely conclude the following:
- Catherine was cold, but now she isn’t!
- the insulation is doing its job preventing leakage of heat
- the windows are doing their job
- the boiler is doing its job
- The PV panels are doing their job.
- You have a happy client
- Your advice and our collective work achieved the desired effect.
- It’s the package of measures which gets the results
- All in all it’s a brilliant result .
