CLPM Provide Site Support for Groundworks on a Riverside New Build
We were recently appointed to carry out Site Support for Groundworks on a Riverside New Build. Our client wanted to ensure this first phase of the project had the maximum focus. After which they, along with the architect and contractor were happy to continue alone.
Our role was to oversee the groundworks phase which included constructing the basement and slab structure.
Works included:
- Demolishing the existing building and replacing with a modern bungalow
- Digging out the basement
- The close proximity to the river made the start on site difficult as the site kept flooding over the winter months
- During the basement dig, a de-watering system had to be used around the clock to pump out the ground water
- A canti-levered slab was then poured which sat on top of the basement and projected out of the ground by about 1.5m
