Vacancy for a Quantity Surveying Professional
Working within a small Commercial Team who are responsible for both the procurement and cost management process of construction projects valued £200k – £5 million, this role provides scope to take on a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities in a flexible, part/full time capacity. This hybrid role has an office base in our beautiful, rural HQ in South-West Hertfordshire. The Daily Stuff…
Cost Estimating & Cost Plans
- Preparation of Budgets / cost plans
- Process management of budgets to external agencies
Tendering and Cost Control
- Preparing construction cost documentation (tender packs, and financial reports)
- Attending site to meet clients / contractors with the Project Manager
- Work with the Project Managers and clients in the valuation / payment process, assessing Applications for Payment and providing Payments Certificate to contractors and clients’
- Agree and prepare final account documentation for approval by the Project Manager or Managing Director
- Tender analysis and reporting
Supplier Management
- Checking pricing and negotiating with suppliers and contractors
- Review contract agreements and provide feedback on performance
- Manage the resolution of disputes above an agreed level
Other Commercial
- Early identification of commercial risk and production of a robust mitigation strategy
Required from you…
- A minimum of 5 + years experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator in a consultancy or with a main contractor or residential home builder.
- Appropriate technical and legal knowledge. Including strong knowledge of JCT suite of contracts (Minor Works, Intermediate and Design & Build)
- Strong commercial awareness and a focus on results with excellent attention to detail and production of accurate work
- Effective time management and advanced Excel skills capable of linking spreadsheets, graphical reports, lookup formulae and analysis
- Ability to commit to 30-40 hours work per week
- Full or partial RICS qualification
- UK / EU Driving Licence
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £45,552.00-£55,000.00 per year
