THE PROJECT
CLPM’s Energy Consultant help clients to save money by making some improvements to the heating arrangements in their home.
Our client found us on google and gave our sales team a call. They wanted to find someone who would help them assess their current system, and advise on improvements that could be made.
It was apparent they were spending too much on their energy use. They knew their system was not working as it should and they wanted an expert to suggest ways they could improve their home.
THE CHALLENGE
The property was built in the 1920’s, and although the clients had kept it up to date, there were certain elements of the heating system that were not working as they had expected.
Being such an old property, the build and insulation was not performing at todays required standards. The running costs were extremely high.
THE SOLUTION
CLPM Heating and Energy Consultant James Johnston visited the clients. He surveyed the property and took the time to understand the clients wishes and plans.
James evaluated the way the building had been built, and suggested ways the clients could make changes to improve their insulation, and air tightness.
The levels of insulation were not at the required standard to ensure the rooms were warm. This will be an area the client will address first.
He also made suggestions on the heating system that would be most suitable for the property, should the clients want to upgrade. The property was heated by extractor fans, and these were underperforming. Although these were relatively new, James identified installation problems. This would be something that the clients would need to rectify, and the results should see a reduction in energy use.
James was able to locate the right personnel to work on the project.
THE RESULT
James provided the clients with a comprehensive report which outlined all the work required to improve the property.
The client took the advice provided by James and has continued to make home improvements where he could.
James identified several issues with the current system which could be an easy fix to ensure the home stays warm.
James had also planned the work required to bring the heating system up to date. He was able to produce a schedule of works for a contractor.
James then helped the clients to find a contractor and was employed to oversee the work. This is how CLPM’s Heating Consultant help clients to save money.
