It's never too late to self-build. This stunning project was a retirement project for our clients.

THE PROJECT
Our clients had gained planning permission for their 4000 sq ft eco new build in the Cotswolds when they contacted us to help them with their project.
They had architectural plans, and had already spoken to another energy consultant but wanted help reviewing the designs, finding a build team and project managing the construction works.
THE CHALLENGE
With a large project of this nature it is always wise to get an independent project manager to help oversee the build. The design of this new home involved a main steel structure and a great deal of glazing – as well as a highly efficient energy performance target, so it was important to closely review the design documentation and then monitor the build from the outset.
THE SOLUTION
Luckily our client’s structural engiineer suggested they get an experienced project manager to support them. He recommended they talk to CLPM, and so we met with our clients early on in the design stage. This meant both our Quantity Surveying team and our Project Manager could be involved with many of the discussions before we started work on the tender packages.
When carrying out a large, complex building project it is very important to appoint the right build team. Our Quantity Surveying team drew up a list of suitable contractors and tendered the works. They also agreed the terms and draw up the contracts. Rob Bohm, project managed the construction works by acting as their Contract Administrator. Throughout the construction works our Quantity Surveying team also helped the clients monitor their budget via monthly cost reporting.
THE RESULT
As you can see our clients have created a stunning new home to enjoy.
The house is light and modern but its stone facing help it fit easily within the rural Oxfordshire landscape.
