New building regulations in the UK

Building Regulations are Changing in England

On the 20^th Dec 2012 the Government announced key changes to the Building Regulation ensuring clearer and concise documents. Make sure you are aware of the new building regulations in the UK. Also remember they differ around the country.

New approved Documents are:

Approved Document K – Protection from falling, collision and impact. 2013 edition (for use in England) takes effect 6th April 2013
Approved Document P – Electrical safety – Dwellings 2013 edition (for use in England) takes effect 6^th April 2013
Approved Document 7 – Materials and workmanship to support Regulation 7. 2013 edition (for use in England) takes effect 1^st July 2013

Significant changes have been made to:

Approved Document M – Access to and use of buildings. 2004 edition incorporating 2010 and 2012 amendments
Approved Document B – Fire Safety, Volume 1 Dwellinghouses. 2006 edition incorporating 2010 and 2013 amendments
Approved Document B – Fire Safety, Volume 2 Buildings other than Dwelling houses. 2006 edition incorporating on 2010 and 2013 amendments
