We’re please to announce that Charlie Laing of CLPM will be delivering the Project Management courses at the NSBRC from 2018. Charlie will be shadowing the current presentation team from this August.
The Project Management course runs at the National Self Build and Renovation Centre in Swindon every 2 months. It is designed to help anyone considering their first self build, home improvement, loft conversion or renovation project.
The course covers subjects from budgeting, insurance and site management through to health & safety, snagging and VAT reclaim.
From 2018, Charlie will be talking to course attendees about :-
- Project Management – the basics such as sequencing your build, your options for project management and the various build route alternatives. Also programme management.
- Cost Management – advice on budgeting including setting and establishing a budget, controlling expenditure, the importance of insurances and warranties, and VAT reclaim.
- Trades and Materials – sourcing and managing the various trades, getting a competitive price, the options for contracts, sourcing materials and quality control.
- Site Preparation and Set up – the importance of site management, how to avoid the pitfalls, Health and Safety and completion.
The course lasts a full day and costs £150 per person, inclusive of VAT.
The course is being run on Saturday August 5th, Saturday October 14th and Saturday December 2nd 2017. Dates for 2018 are yet to be confirmed but we should be able to post them soon.
