It's always a joy helping our clients restore older buildings to their former glory.

THE PROJECT
Our clients, who are an internationally-owned real estate development and management company, were converting a pub with rooms into a boutique hotel. They were looking for independent hotel construction project management support to coordinate the various parties involved with the project and oversee the build once on site.
THE CHALLENGE
The project involved creating 14 individually appointed en-suite bedrooms, a stunning reception area and a lounge, a cocktail bar, and terrace as well as a restaurant. The site was in a beautiful but busy setting – next to the Lion Gate of Hampton Court Palace in London.
The 18th century building had been operating as a pub with rooms and was in need if a full refurbishment. Our clients had architectural plans but needed an experienced building project manager to coordinate the construction phase of the project. As a historic property, the hotel was a listed building which needed sensitive handling. The project also involved coordinating many specialist contractors as well as communicating with all stakeholders across the clients side – from the investment side of the business to the operations team.
THE SOLUTION
Our building project manager, Mario Pereira made weekly visits to the site, to meet with the build team and check the progress of the build. He coordinated the build remotely, emailing and talking regularly with the main contractor and the architect to ensure that any issues were dealt with quickly and in accordance with the clients wishes. Acting as Contract Administrator his role was to ensure that the construction works were being completed to the correct specifications and to the agreed timetable, and to help resolve any queries or difficulties along the way.
THE RESULT
Our clients were very happy with the result and level of service they received from CLPM and we are hoping to work with them soon on another UK project.

CLPM and Mario in particular were amazing with our hotel renovation project. Our project was a tricky listed building with a number of sub-contractors so it was really helpful having the experience of Mario and the CLPM team to pull this project together. My only regret is not having CLPM involved from the start of the project, I am sure we would have saved more money and completed quicker if we had done. We will not be making that mistake on our next project!
