CLPM’s Heating Consultancy team consists of our highly experienced plumbing engineer, Rob Bohm, sustainability consultant Tony Duffin, and all-round construction expert Marcus Moulson.
The heating consultancy team work with architects and homeowners on a wide range of residential heating projects. They also provide expert independent heating advice to community groups and clients in the commercial and charitable sectors.
With over 75 years’ experience in the sustainability and construction industry between them, the team are experts in all heating systems – including the latest renewable technologies such as heat pumps and solar photo voltaic panel systems.

So you get the best result for your investment, future-proof your home or premises and reduce your ongoing running costs.
We at CLPM have a company policy to assist clients to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. We believe, energy efficient homes also tend to be more comfortable.
There are multiple ways to do this, but we are focused on a fabric first approach. This means that we look at ways of reducing energy usage by improving insulation and improving air-tightness to reduce draughts.
Most of the energy required for a property is through the heating, and the total ‘peak’ heat load used to design the heating system is dependent on 5 main points.
- The size of the building.
- The temperature of the building.
- The insulation levels.
- The draughtiness.
- The control system.
The first two points are fairly well set, but we are able to adjust the final three points.
