About
Alison leads CLPM’s Quantity Surveying team. She is a chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry.
Her role as Commercial Director involves performing a wide range of tasks including helping prepare budgets (and supporting other team members doing so), tendering, and contract preparation. A key role is Contract Administration which involves providing cost for variations and completion of final accounts and the accompanying administrative support to other CLPM team members.
Alison trained on site as a project Quantity Surveyor in Bristol with a major construction company. She then relocated to London with the company, taking on the role of Commercial Manager for the facilities management of a site for the MOD North London region. Here she was responsible for pre and post-contract surveying duties on the project including the procurement of suppliers and subcontractors. The role also included close client liaison to enable the continuous improvement of the service provided. Alison was then promoted to Procurement Manager before moving to take on the role of Consultant in the Corporate Tax division of Arthur Andersen. Here Alison was responsible for the preparation of capital allowances claims for a range of clients in various sectors of the market – including retail, leisure and property investment. Her role included close liaison with clients to provide advice on capital allowances legislation, and the coordination and supervision of resources to meet client statutory deadlines. Alison subsequently moved to Arcadis in the role of Principal Consultant in the Financial Institutions Sector in their London office, specialising in Technical Risk Management, with responsibility for providing the delivery of technical advice to a wide range of property lending and investment clients in the private sector.
