Property Refurbishment Project Manager – Passivhaus Retrofit, London
Property Refurbishment Project Manager
Looking for a property refurbishment project manager for your construction project?
Property refurbishments need an expert project manager as they are often the most complicated projects to undertake. This project was no exception. It was a blend of a new build with a refurbishment. This exciting Passivhaus retrofit project converted a large traditional 1950’s detached house in a North London village’s conservation area, into a substantial high performance modern home.
We worked closely with the architect and client from initial stages to completion, to ensure the vision for the new energy efficient building with its large landscaped gardens was fully realised.
The project involved demolishing a separate flat on the site, plus a couple of single storey rooms to make way for the large new build double-storey extension, which then linked to the main original house. The original house was gutted, remodelled and renovated to create a high performance building before the new extension was added. This was built using structurally insulated panels (known as SIPs) and the whole house was given a new, modern look with huge structural glazing panels.
Working to a very high specification throughout, the home included a new kitchen, new bathrooms and living spaces as well as bedrooms. The new house is not only extremely light and stylish but as it achieves Passivhaus performance it also has negligible running costs.
