This SW London basement extension and refurbishment project is one of CLPM’s previous projects and shows how a modest 1920’s house can be transformed to become an exciting family home.
Our clients had purchased this characterful, but tired Edwardian house with the aim of extending, restoring and adapting it. Working with both their Architect and Interior Designer, they came up with a scheme which made the best use of the space available as well as creating a large additional area by the popular route of constructing a new basement.
Outside the garden was redesigned and imaginatively landscaped. The house underwent a full but sensitive refurbishment including re-wiring, new plumbing as well as new flooring, kitchen, and bathrooms. Additions included a walk-in dressing room/ensuite for the master bedroom, a wine cellar in the floor of the kitchen and a cinema room in the basement.
We gave cost advice by managing the tender process for the clients and we project managed the construction works by acting as Contract Administrator to the main contractor. We also helped the clients monitor their budget by monthly cost reporting.
