It seems the rich tones of Winter are finally giving way to Spring and every interior palette is sporting green.
Gone are the white backdrops and creamy frames and emerald has been named the colour of 2013 in all fashionable areas including Pantone paints!. According to the experts green complements the entire colour spectrum and even lends a lift to reds and browns.
Not only does the colour lend a calming atmosphere but it offers a wide range of shades and hues making it vivid or just a hint where it’s needed. Green promotes well being in our lives bringing harmony to most rooms. We’ve had a look at some of the gorgeous living rooms arranged by our favourite stores recently and here are our top five!
1. Marks and Spencers pale approach
Using a neutral palette, M&S has combined our favourite creams with a hint of fresh green that reflects the outdoors.
2. Next’s Pink and Green Candy Stripe
We love this candy stripe! It makes for a really bright Spring look and suits a small space.
3. The Rich Tones of Green and Red
The bright red works well with a ‘kicked back’ lime green and cream accents in the lamps and cushions.
4. Mocha, Stone, Green and Cream
A more classic approach to a softer Spring theme in the living room.
5. Colour blocking works well
Colour blocking is great in living rooms but you need to feel brave as is shown in this stunning photo combining almost garish limes with softer hues.
