Leatherhead Double Storey Extension
This Leatherhead double storey extension building project illustrates beautifully how a home can be transformed by appointing a skilled architect and a well organised, quality construction team. CLPM have several project managers who cover Surrey, and this project is similar to many we have helped our clients successfully complete in recent years.
This double storey extension project in a rural village outside Leatherhead involved demolishing a conservatory, building the extension at the rear and completely remodelling the layout of the rooms within the house. The downstairs now features a modern open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area as well as a large utility space. The original separate dining room is now a study and additional 5th bedroom. Upstairs there are now 4 large double bedrooms, 2 of which are en-suite and the other 2 bedrooms now share a large family bathroom.
Our clients approached us after our project management and cost services were recommended to them by one of our previous clients. They had applied for planning permission, and wanted to appoint an independent project management team to work with them to develop detailed specifications for the build and carry out a competitive tender process. We then went on to appoint the builders and set up the building contracts and project managed the construction project via the role of Contract Administrator. We also helped our clients monitor their spend by supporting them with cost reporting services.
The result of this significant double extension with refurbishment and remodel building project is a larger, more flexible home with the look and practicalities of a 21st century new build.
CLPM Services used by our clients:
Design Review and Schedule of Works, Budget, Tender Process, Monthly Cost Reporting, and Project Management in the role of Contract Administrator.
CLPM were recommended to us by a work colleague and were very pleased with their services. Getting our designs checked over and the specifications fully drawn up by CLPM, before we started on the tender process, got the project off to a good start and we believe then led to it being very smooth thereafter. We had an excellent relationship both with our project manager and our builder, and there was good communication between all parties with regular minuted meetings. The project was completed on time and on budget.Mr G, Leatherhead, Surrey
