CLPM can provide your practice with construction cost consultancy services as well as additional contract administration and construction management services resource. We can also offer you and your client’s project energy efficiency audits and give independent advice on sustainable design, heating systems and renewables.
We get involved in both residential and commercial projects. We work closely with a number of architectural practices, and value these long-term relationships, but we are also happy to work with you ad-hoc or on single projects. We understand the need to manage workload peaks and projects which are logistically difficult to project manage onsite.
We work with both very small and large practices across the South of England. Whilst these may differ in size, they all share the same desire to offer their clients additional construction-related services, over and above exceptional design.
We can offer you, as our architectural partners, the ability to cherry pick the services you need on a client by client basis. This gives you the ability to meet your client’s needs without reducing your design capacity, having the ongoing cost of employing additional personnel, or having to turn away business because of geography or workload pressures.
Our construction cost consultancy services include budgeting, estimating, cost engineering, tender organisation, drawing up contracts and cost reporting. We are competitively priced, give free quotations and work on a fixed fee basis.
Our contract administration services are available for your clients should your workload or the project location mean your practice needs additional resource. We offer a variety of service levels with varying onsite visit frequencies to meet the needs and budget of each client.
Project Management and Construction Management Services
We can offer your clients a flexible, bespoke approach with full or partial project or construction management services support. We can project manage via a main contractor. Alternatively we can give construction management services support via a trade-by-trade approach. In the latter case, typically the client employs the tradesmen directly and we provide control to keep the project on track. This is a non-standard approach but allows some projects that would otherwise be over-budget to proceed where they otherwise wouldn’t. Naturally we remain independent of all tradesmen providing protection to the client in terms of time, cost and quality.
Energy Consultancy, including Heating System Advice
We can work directly with your client or in collaboration with your architect/design team. We advise on a wide range of technical aspects relating to sustainability and can offer support on building sustainability into new builds, listed buildings, renovations, extensions as well as commercial properties.
We can carry out an energy audit and model the performance of the building and help your client achieve their targets. We can advise on choosing the most appropriate building materials such as structurally insulated panels, insulated concrete formwork, thin joint masonry, timber frames, natural materials and insulation. We can carry out analysis of heat gains/losses, as well as scoping and assessing the feasibility of renewable technologies such as solar thermal panels, PV arrays, air, ground and water source heat pumps, and biomass boilers. We can offer bespoke heating system advice for your clients, and also have expertise in water usage and collection or waste filtration methods. This includes rainwater harvesting, reed beds, bio-digesters and compost toilets.
