CLPM are currently providing construction project management for London restaurant development.
Our clients, a German couple, one of whom is also a successful architect, already own and run 2 popular restaurants in London. This new restaurant will be the third in their growing branded chain. The location they have chosen is a Grade 2 listed building in central London, close to a number of major tourist attractions.
The site, which is owned by the German government, was previously used for catering purposes but is in a poor state of repair and so requires a full strip-out. Our clients have also gained planning permission to make structural alterations to the space before fitting it out in their brand’s authentic Bavarian style – Stein’s.
We have been asked by our clients to give them support with the pre-construction and early construction phases of their build. As the building is a leasehold which is owned by the German government, there are various additional procedures that our clients have to adhere to, and so we are giving additional support to ensure things go smoothly.
We initially helped with the contractor appointment. This involved reviewing and checking the tender submissions from the contractor, as well as preparing the building contracts. We are now onsite and are currently acting as Contract Administrator for the build. James Bryden, our MD is overseeing this project.
So far we are pleased to report that the project is progressing well and is on schedule. Our clients are hoping to complete the building works and open their new restaurant for business in early Spring 2018.
